Scott's best Christmas present

It wasn't the basketball and hoop, although he loves them...

Not even all the new toys to could compare to this present...

...a new sibling, due July 14th, 2010!

Merry Christmas, everyone. We love you all and hope you have a wonderful holiday spent with family.

Cold-weather ideas?

Dear fellow mommy-bloggers and experienced moms who read my blog (and anyone else who may want to chime in on this issue),

Scott and I are going a little crazy staying inside all day. It's REALLY cold, snowy, and icy here in Idaho Falls, and there just isn't a lot we can do outside now that the little bit of green we had in the spring/summer is iced over.

I'm trying to find creative indoor activities for Scott. Clay, coloring, and books are all pretty popular, but he needs activities to develop his large muscle groups, as well. I notice him running in circles around our kitchen sometimes, just to get some of that needed exercise. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't mind driving somewhere, either...I just can't spend very much money. Please help--we're going stir-crazy, here! :)

Lately

A picture Scott took of himself, all by himself.
Scott and Dad playing Zelda. Scott enjoys all the "doins" (doors) that Link goes through in this game. :)

Lately I've been singing to Scott at bedtime while laying in his big boy bed with him, hoping that he'll want to stay there for the rest of the night (it's worked once so far!!). "I am a Child of God" is our go-to song, one that I've been singing to him since he was born. Lately, I'll stop singing a phrase before the last word, and he'll say it (his version of it, anyway) or whisper it in a sweet little hoarse whisper. It really touches my heart, and I'm happy to know that my rambunctious little boy is actually picking up on some of the calmer, more tender things we try to share with him.

Sorry, we're boring

No cute pictures in awhile, sorry. We're just livin' life, trying not to give away all the super exciting fun things that we'll write to you about in our Christmas letter. Ok, so there aren't that many super exciting fun things to write about. Gee, we really are boring. :)

We would like to send anyone interested one of the above-mentioned Christmas updates (complete with stunning family picture!), so please respond with your physical address if you care to receive one. This blog is private, so your information will be safe.

Oh, I guess there were a couple random funny Scott pictures on my camera; here you go:

This one just makes me smile. What a cute little dorky kid.

Yeah, he never holds still. No wonder he becomes exhausted. :)
